This site has no account system, contact form or advertising cookies. Contact links open your own email application; the site does not receive what you write unless you choose to send it.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics for cookieless, aggregated page views and contact-link events. Vercel acts as our processor. We do not send names, email addresses or message contents as analytics events.
Orbcrawl’s research
Orbcrawl’s research works with UK public records and publicly reachable websites. Some of that information can relate to an identifiable person, for example a sole trader whose name appears in a public record, or a business contact address published on a website. Provenance and retrieval dates are retained so observations can be checked. Unknown or blocked information is not presented as a negative fact.
Lawful basis
For our research we rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): assessing the public, observable state of UK business websites and deciding which businesses are worth contacting. We use only information that is already public, keep it to what that purpose needs, and treat a business that objects as having a strong reason to be left alone. For this website’s analytics we rely on the same basis, because nothing is stored on your device and the data is aggregated.
How long we keep information
We keep information about a business only while it is needed for the purposes above, and review it as it goes out of date. Analytics data is retained by Vercel under its own schedule. Email you send us is kept for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. If you ask to be removed, we keep a minimal suppression entry, enough to recognise the business and make sure it is not added again, and delete the rest.
Your rights
You have the right to be told what we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our use of it, and, where it applies, to receive it in a portable form. You can object at any time to our using your information for direct marketing, and we will stop. You can also object to any other use based on legitimate interests, and we will stop unless our reasons for continuing outweigh yours. We will reply within one month.
If your business is in our records
If you run a business that appears in public records and you do not want it assessed or contacted, email us with the business name and address or website. We will stop using it and add it to a suppression list, and we will correct any record you show to be wrong.
